NANANANANANANANA BATMAN

Happy Halloween!  Batman is off to fight crime today at preschool with Optimus Prime (Peyton).  When I dropped Ethan off today he was very excited to get to be a character at school today rather than just being Ethan...goofy boy.

Oh our silly boy!

We actually get to watch the Utes play football on TV today, a rare occurrence, and it has been a great game so far.  Just before half time I asked Ethan if he was going to play football when he is bigger (being picky here, but I want to be a baseball or football mom not a soccer mom), he said yes, and so I asked him if he was going to be a Ute or a Duck?  He asked, what are those?  I then explained Utah Utes (where Daddy went) or an Oregon Duck (as we live in Oregon).  He then said he wanted to be a Duck, the said he wanted the team with the red helmet, and then ending the conversation with, "I am Batman today though."  His list of characters that he plays himself as well as assigns to others is nonstop entertaining.

A couple other giggles from E:

Last Friday I was dropping Ethan off at preschool, and as usual with every drop off, I have to remind him that he needs to be Ethan while at school and can be a character again when I pick him up.  While kissing him goodbye I asked him, "ok, who are we going to be while we are at school today?" He responded with, "I will be Ethan until you leave and then I will be Luke Skywalker."

Earlier this week while out running some errands Ethan and I found a quarter, a dime and a nickel at different spots along the way.  I told Ethan to put them in his pocket so that he could put them in his jar when we got home.  A bit later he said he needed to save his moneys so that he could give them to Santa.  I asked him, "why are you saving your moneys for Santa?"  He explained that he had to give all his moneys to Santa so he would bring him some Star Wars Lego's for Christmas.  However, he has now moved from his constant Star Wars character to being Batman so I guess I need to ask if his Santa wish list has changed.

Yesterday E and I met Nicole and Peyton at the Children's Museum.  They are currently having a Lego exhibit, so of course we had to check it out.  I wish we had a Lego table, it would make playing and storing Lego's a bit easier.

The grocery store is always a favorite spot for both boys.

And you can't forget face painting.  Ethan said he was making his Batman mask.  I had to go to Target after we left, and yes, I was the mom with the blue faced boy laughing my way through.

And the music stage is a must hit spot.  Nicole and I were entertained for sure.

Parent/Teacher Conference

Last night I went to my first Parent/Teacher Conference for Ethan.  I was a little nervous going in knowing my child pretty well and hoping that his nonstop talking and listening-only-when-he-wants skills would not be on her list of work-ons but after talking with her (Mrs. Horne) and hearing some of the funny things he has done in class, he had a pretty glowing review and I am very proud of him.  He is doing really well with his uppercase letters knowing all but about 5, knowing about half of his lowercase letters, recognizing numbers 1-11 and writing 1-5, knowing all but 2 shapes, and knowing an AB pattern.  Here is the review she sent home of her observations of him:

35!

I had a fun birthday weekend.  On Saturday, my birthday, I celebrated with lunch at Pine State Biscuits with J & E followed by Dolphin Tail (free tickets).
 Chicken sandwich...so yummy!!!
The biscuits were huge but E loved it with honey!

Then today I met some of my besties for lunch at Henry's followed by old school roller skating at Oaks Park.  A great day with lots of laughing!

 Cesar salad...one of my favs!
 Prawns were good and spicy!
Burger...cutting out the carbs as it took up only half the bun...that is happy hour food for ya.
 Brandon & Nic...nice smile B!
 A& A
 A, K, & N (two of my besties)

 My love!

Pumpkin carving

The Hyatt's threw a pumpkin carving party last night and we had a fun time making a pumpkin seed mess.

 A & A...♥ them!
 Kelly & Taylor
 Myself & Jeff
 Amy's owl pumpkin...hoot hoot!
My warty pumpkin..hoping the seeds I saved from it will grow me one next year.
 One big pumpkin family!
The Hadley clan of pumpkins (J's two-face, K's warty, and E's Happy)
And Ethan, of course, provided the entertainment and showed off his dancing skills with Desi.  His robot dance was pretty good for a first time.

And nothing tops off a party like Destructor Charlie.  We came home today, after birthday lunch at Pine State Biscuits, to a missing Happy pumpkin with the only remnant being the vine.  Ethan did have a cute little pumpkin he grew in our garden before the Destructor got it though so I guess we will be getting another pumpkin and carving before Halloween.

Pumpkin time!!!

As you already know, October is one of my favorite months (my birthday on Saturday, wink, wink) and the pumpkin patch is always a must do this month.  The last couple of years we have gone to Lee's Pumpkin Patch in Tualatin and always have a great time and this year was just as fun.  We met the Springer family for slides, bouncing pillow, cow train and hay ride, pumpkin picking and apple cider donuts.

Our kid loves red soda...ruby red lips and tongue!

Classroom Helper

I volunteered to be a classroom helper for Ethan's preschool class so on Wednesday mornings twice a month I will get to help out and I am sure be entertained as well.

Today was fireman day at preschool and they had several different projects they made, including making a fire truck for their snack, as well as saw a video about fire safety and then got to see the fire truck.  Peyton and Ethan's class is really big, I think 16 kids, and I am thankful for Mrs. Horne and Mrs. Green's patience with them.
